Tamara Stefanovich plays Charles Ives

Listening to Charles Ives’s First Piano Sonata can feel a little bit like walking through a foreign city without a map, says Tamara Stefanovich—you hear a few bars of church music, a marching band, or a ragtime tune wafting from an open window.
