There are two exhibition tours, during which five of the artists involved speak, in turn, about the conceptual background of their work and how they present their specific ideas using sound, images and other materials. They provide insights into the semantic and sensual levels of their work and communicate the stimuli that excite movement in the sociopolitical environment.
The tours are followed by open discussion panels, moderated in each case by curators of the project and a guest. These talks tie in with experiences, observations and questions from the earlier tours of the exhibition. They create a platform for reflecting on the transcontinental context embedded in the individual works and for discussing the role played here by sound and listening.

The evening concert features unusual performances, long-standing intercontinental collaborations and spontaneous improvisations. Steloolive, a sound and performance artist from Accra and currently a JUNGE AKADEMIE fellow, transcends conventions in his dynamic performance. Luca Forcucci and Oscillatons artist Mpho Molikeng began working together in Johannesburg in 2018, and their collaboration intensified during Molikeng’s residency in Berlin. It combines the sound language of African instruments, most of which Molikeng made himself, with live electronic music and improvisation. Other Oscillations musicians also join in this process. The evening culminates in a jam session with Muhammad Dawjee, Neo Muyanga, Kirsten Reese, Garth Erasmus and Mpho Molikeng.
DJ KillaDuJour concludes the event with lively party sounds.
