Dupleix–Rasten–Lane–Heilbron

perform works by Léo Dupleix & Fredrik Rasten

• Léo Dupleix, Poème d’air (2022)

• Fredrik Rasten, Fuse modulations (2020)

Léo Dupleix (computer synthesis), Fredrik Rasten (guitar), Rebecca Lane (flutes), and Jon Heilbron (double bass)
LÉO DUPLEIX has retained a strong interest in improvisation while developing a corpus of composition that utilizes slowly unfurling melodies cast through the prism of Just Intonation and pure relationships of tones. His work betrays a fascination with the phenomenon of sound and its attributes (noise, tone, beating, consonance, and silence), and a strong interest in European and Far Eastern music from the Middle Ages. FREDRIK RASTEN is a composer and guitarist primarily focusing on musical explorations of just intonation and related sound phenomena. In his work he is reaching for an actively listening state wherein to intuitively explore the complexities of tone and harmony. Apart from his solo work, his projects include duos with Egil Kalman, Jonathan Heilbron, and Torstein Lavik Larsen; the quartets Oker and Volumes; and the Harmonic Space Orchestra. REBECCA LANE is a musician who explores intonation, focusing on extended just intonation & alternative tuning systems and the embodied & relational aspects of sounding/activating this acoustic phenomena with others. Thus her practice is informed by ongoing relationships and collaborations with composer-performers (such as Catherine Lamb & Clara de Asís) and within various duos and ensembles (e.g., Sam Dunscombe and Harmonic Space Orchestra), utilizing various flutes (flutes, Kingma system quartertone bass flute, recorders) and occasionally voice or objects. JON HEILBRON is a composer, researcher, and performer (double bass and chord organ). He is the founder of the phonetic orchestra and member of Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin and Harmonic Space Orchestra. Recent recordings include Catherine Lamb's Muto Infinitas (with Rebecca Lane) (Another Timbre 2021) and Prisma Interius VII with Harmonic Space Orchestra (Sacred Realism 2020); Puma Court (Another Timbre, 2019), and Pieces for Chord Organs (Intonema 2019).
