Doors 19:30 / Concert 20:30 / Karl-Marx-Straße 28, Berlin
• Max Eilbacher performs "Imitating a Particular Word" for digital synthesis and four speakers, from his Rough Music series.
• Sam Dunscombe performs a solo for field recordings, clarinet, and digital synthesis.
MAX EILBACHER’s sound practice draws upon traditions of algorithmic composition, musique concréte, and avant-garde performance. With these traditions he creates conceptual systems in which synthesis and processing-intensive software environments are constructs of compositional and sculptural form. The sonic assemblage of social, political, and physical are reflected and inquired upon by treating space, timbre and perception as elastic and malleable parameters. Recent releases include Metabolist Meter (GRM 2020) and Telescope Casual (Superpang 2021). (www.maxeilbacher.info)
SAM DUNSCOMBE is a performer-composer specializing in the use of clarinets, computers, and microphones. Sam is interested in work that explores the multi-dimensional perception of time, which has drawn her to areas including improvisation, the performance of complex-notated repertoire, field recording, audio engineering, and live electronic performance. Her forthcoming releases include Horatiu Radulescu – Plasmatic Music vol. 1 (Mode 339) and Becoming Oceanic (Black Truffle). (www.salty-media.com)
