Transatlantic Tapes

In the early 20th century, the accordion traveled across the Atlantic with Italian and German immigrants and became the dominant folk instrument on both sides of the ocean - North and South. The accordion has long since found its place in contemporary music, and many composers have come to appreciate its many possibilities. In order to enrich the Eurocentric horizon of its repertoire, the instrument will be brought back into its transatlantic perspective, with an emphasis on repertoire for accordion and electronics.
