Installation und Konzerte anlässlich des Work-in-Progress von Windwall, einer Klangskulptur aus Tausenden von recycelten Mundharmonikas

WINDWALL, a sound sculpture made of thousands of recycled harmonicas is in the world-wide collective process of creation. It will be as high as the Berlin Wall used to be and stand as a symbol of collective action. The wall of harmonicas will be played by the wind and will connect people instead of separating them.

The first phase of the project, the harmonica collection process is coming to end. We have collected 4000 harmonicas so far, but we still expect more to come. In the occasion of the WINDWALL 0.2 | THE PILOT EVENT one fifth of the sound sculpture will be presented and activated in various ways by Berlin-based sound artists. This work-in-progress event will be accompanied by several concerts at East Side Gallery.

The WINDWALL is an idea of Andyvazul, harmonica player and sound artist, who built Disharmonika in 2015 out of his hundred broken harmonica reed-plates. Inspired by his recycled music instrument now he is building a wall of harmonicas with the support of the Berlin Senat (Hauptstadtkulturfonds) and Collegium Hungaricum Berlin in collaboration with harmonica producers (such as Hohner, Seydel and Lee Oskar Harmonicas) involving the world's harmonica community.';;

Vazul is a harmonica player, sound artist and currently the music programme curator at Collegium Hungaricum Berlin. He gave birth to the Input Impro festival and other event formats such as spi.res. and Conduction Series, creating a bridge between the Berlin-based and the Hungarian improvised and experimental music scenes.

"I imagine a world where art has no stage and the artworks have no shape. This is the world of the now.
The artists of the now bring people together on a local level.
The artists of the now perceive, discusses and share.
The artists of the now initiate collective action."
