CARE 4: Tomomi Adachi & Cedrík Fermont

Concert + Moderated Discussion

The fourth edition of the BGNM's CARE series features composer, musician and poet Tomomi Adachi and electronic composer, label manager and author Cedrík Fermont. Both perform live some of their recent work and will also take part in a discussion about currents within the global contemporary music and arts scene and how this has influenced their art.
CARE is a new series presented by the BGNM (Berliner Gesellschaft für Neue Musik e.V.). The series focuses on caring for interpersonal relationships – far away from large institutions – where music and the human begin, in dialogue, in togetherness. The invited artists deal artistically with the idea of care: What does an artistic work look like once one deviates from normative paths? How does one care for oneself and one's own art? Finally, what does artistic collaboration mean in this regard?
With this series, the basic idea of the BGNM e.V. should be emphasized: a society that functions as a place for a diverse community of people who produce and receive contemporary music in all its facets. Accordingly, the BGNM will initiate regular events, inviting all people interested in experimental music to come by, take inspiration from an artistic contribution and/or presentation, and have a conversation with the others present.
