Bergama Stereo Performanceprogramm

contagious

Founded in the summer of 2018, the contagious trio explores the intersections between club-oriented, danceable music on the one hand and "autonomous" experimental music on the other, opening up new aesthetic spaces through mutual "contagion". The musicians plunder each other's musical spheres, appropriate them and switch roles. In fragile sound textures, pulses become audible. Groovy beats disintegrate into noisy fragments that flow together into a trance-like stream.
Bergama Stereo
Performance program
In "Bergama Stereo", an architectural installation with sound, the Istanbul-based artist and musician Cevdet Erek references the form, the historically attributed function and the ongoing reception of the Pergamon Altar, now located in Berlin, and creates a new interpretation of the famous Hellenistic edifice. The exhibition marks the 20th anniversary of the series “Works of music by visual artists” and is accompanied by a performance and concert program.
A coproduction by Freunde Guter Musik Berlin e.V., Nationalgalerie – Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, and Ruhrtriennale. Funded by the German Federal Cultural Foundation, with support by the SAHA Association.
