next of skin / Unheard Life of Stones

The program of the 'ohrenhoch Sundays - a presentation series on all 52 Sundays a year - is often short-termed.

You find the current works and composers on the ohrenhoch websites and

Every Sunday a piece of electroacoustic or acousmatic music, sounddesign, soundscape or audio play is heard from 2 pm to 9 pm in continuous play over a fixed loudspeaker installation.

In this way the hearers can step in the Geräuschladen anytime without missing a beginning. The concept of ohrenhoch in particular focuses on "Active Hearing" and the sounds developing in the space in their complexity, without beginning or ending.

'ohrenhoch' since 2015 deals with the question 'SOUNDACTIVISM' in the most diverse facets. Every year a new manifesto is created - from 2015 to 2017 by Knut Remond and Isabella Zamboni, and in 2018 by Knut Remond and Elisabeth R. Hager.

In the ohrenhoch school the ohrenhoch_Rumori-Kids learn, research and experiment. From their own ideas they realise acoustic projects with electroacoustic or acousmatic compositions, performance, field recordings and sound installations. The pedagogical basis is to meet the children at equal eye level and as fully-fledged members of the society.

The SOUNDGALLERY 'ohrenhoch, der Geräuschladen has been founded and is run since 2008 by Knut Remond and Katharina Moos.

'Next of Skin’ conceptualizes the relationship between human body and the body of nature treating them as one organism. 'Unheard Life of Stones' is a sound sculpture and an artificial environment.
