Parallelwelten: Digital improvisiert mit Tin Men and the Telephone

Who sets the tone at a concert? The musicians or a tape? In this case, neither do – Tin Men and the Telephone is conducted by the audience. With an app. The Dutch trio has created a new form of improvisation, in which controlling a digital medium becomes the core of musical creation. In the workshop “Parallelwelten”, a programme centred around the world of (computer) games, young people between the ages of 14 and 20 will be able to explore this process and experiment with it. In the concert following the workshop, the improvisation between audience and band will take shape and everyone will be able to interact with the musicians using the app.
Another opportunity for impromptu composition is "Mash Machine", an installation which encourages joint improvisation based on the composition of individual musical components. The "Mash Machine" will be available throughout the festival in the lower foyer of the Berliner Festspiele.
“Parallel Worlds” is a programme by young people and for young people at Berliner Festspiele, which focuses on the music festivals at Berliner Festspiele and the world of the digital media.
