Ana Roxanne works at the intersection of electric meditation, dream pop and ambient. The songs on her second album Because of a Flower were written over five years, inspired by notions of gender identity, beauty and cruelty. The experience of identifying as intersex shapes the album both sonically and thematically, from spoken word lyrics to cinematic dialogue samples and allusions to castrato arias - songwriting between breath and whisper, refuge and mourning, synthesised into a unique, intuitive sonic language.
