CONCERT SERIES FOR CONTEMPORARY JAZZ IN BERLIN

After a two-year hiatus, the Serious Series will be taking place this year for the eleventh time. Frank Gratkowski and Achim Kaufmann are the curators, as they were in 2019. For them, it is essential to present music that gives sound to what has been "unheard-of" to date, that bypasses the conventional, melds elements that seem to be incongruent and crosses musical borders. Free Improvisation, contemporary compositional concepts, references to jazz traditions and electro-acoustic soundscapes commingle anew this year in a multifarious program.
