For years, LUX:NM has stood for bridge-building between different musical genres in the Berlin scene. In its projects, the ensemble regularly searches for interfaces to electronic music, jazz or even pop. In the format Eclecti:X, the ensemble presents new collaborations and compositions, among them by jazz musician Gebhard Ullmann (German Jazz Prize 2022), who will be a guest in the concert, and music by award-winning composer and video artist Nicole Lizée, who creates new music from an eclectic mix of influences, including the earliest MTV videos, turntablism, rave culture, Hitchcock, Kubrick, thrash metal, 1960s psychedelia, and 1960s modernism. The concert also features Colombian rebel - flutist Mauricio Velasierra and British anarcho - soprano Heidi Heidelberg of the duo Witch'n'Monk, with whom LUXNM combines stylistic features from the avant-garde, contemporary music, Latin American "folktronica" and experimental jazz into fluid songs, and brings Florian Japp's video scores, created during Pandemic, live to the stage for the first time. Pure verve and eclecticism!
