In the performance, the principle of over-forming is applied to the sound of two guitars. The two electric guitarists produce two continuous streams of sound for the entire duration of the piece. Drones, noise surfaces, drilling chord cascades, glissando waves. But instead of letting the masses of sound stand on their own and be unleashed directly on the loudspeakers, they are first fed into an over-shaping instance. Here, the electronic performer steers the control processes that distribute the sound streams on two sides, chops them up, transforms them into pulses and enriches them in the harmonic spectrum through amplitude modulation. Even if only the parameter of volume is manipulated here, the possibilities of intervention are enormous: small acoustic pinpricks develop into massive jolts, a stable sense of space is disturbed by extreme panning, and the pulses are set into seemingly endless accelerations by means of psychoacoustic processes. The spatial disposition deliberately avoids a monodirectional and frontal hierarchical stage situation; placing the actors and the audience together in the speaker room between two walls of guitar amplifiers. The audience is invited to move at close quarters around the performers within the space where the action is taking place.
