From the 2nd to the 31st of October 2026, the Month of Contemporary Music will once again provide a platform for showcasing the diversity and excellence of Berlin’s contemporary music scene.

The Month of Contemporary Music is shaped by the scene itself: ensembles, festivals, venues, and individual artists are invited to pitch their events for the program, while initiative neue music e.V. / field notes will take on festival-wide coordination and communication. Through this collective framework, a variety of activities can be made accessible to a broader public.

Please share with us via mdzm@field-notes.berlin whether you'd like your event to be a part of the Month of Contemporary Music, by the 15th of June at the latest. To register an event for the Month of Contemporary Music, you'll also need to submit your event directly to the field notes calendar by the 15th of June, 2026, being sure to check the box “Teil des Monats der zeitgenössischen Musik.” Upon registering, you will receive the Month of Contemporary Music logo, which you are requested to use in your print and online publications.

10 Years Month of Contemporary Music

In 2026, the Month of Contemporary Music will celebrate its 10th edition. From the 2nd through 31st of October the program will present a wide variety of different streams and modes of expression from the contemporary music scene in Berlin.
