Matthew has been recommended to do no more than one or two shows a month and to limit travel as much as possible. Swiss percussionist Julian Sartorius and British electronic virtuoso Matthew Herbert explore the sound of improvised music together in an introspective dialogue. Sartorius' collection of drums, percussion instruments and augmented objects serves as a sound source. In an idiosyncratic style, he weaves the various sounds into intoxicating formations, which Herbert takes up and transforms into profound soundscapes in real time. // Their performance will be introduced by percussionist Bex Burch, who describes her musical expression as »messy minimalism«. She will be joined by Laurel Pardue for this show.
