GAMUT INC is dedicated to exploring the new possibilities of the computer-controlled pipe organ. The focus is not only on hyper-virtuoso playing technique, but above all on what arises beyond human grasp: microscopic shifts, nuanced sound events, temporal overlaps and rhythmic processes outside a fixed grid. Automation is understood here not as an effect, but as a compositional tool.
The concert features works from the organ album ‘Radiating,’ which consistently explores these potentials. The music moves between harmonic condensation and noise, between static sound fields and accelerated textures. Layers are set in motion, harmonies shift, rhythms emerge from friction and repetition. This develops into a euphorically intoxicating pull that has less of a narrative effect than a physical one: the Schuke organ of Sophienkirche has never been played in this way before.
