Frank invites you to his duo concert with İpek Odabaşı.

Frank creates a unique soundscape in the transition from noise to music. He has arranged his improv set with hints of melodies, sporadic rhythms, and sound structures formed from a variety of analog sound samples. These are integrated into the digital signals of a no-input mixer and other electronic devices. An additional element is a modified resonator guitar. Driven by a motor, a coil, and a closed circuit, its strings are set into permanent vibration, generating endless sustain. This results in a radical transformation of both the sound and the handling of the instrument.

İpek Odabaşı is an Istanbul-born, Berlin-based noise maker, sound artist, experimental DJ, and curator. Her practice centers on experimental music, including noise and improvised performance, combining samples and field recordings with live sound produced through hardware instruments and digital systems for real-time synthesis, processing, and transformation.

Milchtritt and a.v.suals will also be performing that evening.

„Milchtritt is an exploratory venture of Philip Hölldobler. The current focus is to employ an acoustic voice and evoke a second synthetic voice on it that is using the acoustic signal as substrate while in turn feeding back influence into the acoustic play, melting into each other to varying degrees. Augmenting manual instrumentation with synthetic power in improvisational performance within a preconceived shape. Droning, barking, squealing. Implanting electronic reagents into instrumental placenta, fondling and chocking the mess, gurgling up to excrete foul flowers of stereophonic sound.“

a.v.suals (Lilu Herlambang, ID) blurs the boundary between what is seen and what is heard, where each flicker of light and every visual error becomes a potential sound source. Based in Berlin, her work is grounded in improvisation and guided by a deep curiosity for audiovisual dissonance—treating noise as expression, and the visual as the beginning of notation.
