is an exhibition about the Exhibited Music project, which was shown at the end of June 2025 at the Fahrbereitschaft.
It addresses the question of how a concert project can be documented today alongside the usual video and audio recordings. We answer this question with a documentary, site-specific installation centred around the KNM Quartet's recording of Brian Ferneyhough's 2nd String Quartet.
The first part focuses on the communication between the four musicians. Their movements, gazes and collective breathing create an elastic space. Part two shows the more profane side of ›making art‹ – though without completely unravelling it. Finally, the third part creates the familiar magical aura of a concert while also providing a quasi-scientific glimpse into the inner lives of the KNM Quartet’s four musicians
