Composer and percussionist Bex Burch, is known for her “messy minimalism” and runs the label and band Vula Viel. She has collaborated with artists like Peter Zummo and Evelyn Glennis and trained in instrument making in Ghana. She will be joined by Laurel Pardue for this show.
Composer Sophia Jani and violinist Teresa Allgaier present Six Pieces for Solo Violin, released in May by Squama Recordings. Jani’s compositions explore simplicity and honor the violin.
