FRKTL – السَّمْت Azimuth (Bandcamp, digital)

The film »السَّمْت Azimuth« is part of the Nomadic Signals series, curated by artist Leyya Mona Tawil, which is dedicated to the so-called »diasporic imaginary« and explores how sounds and images change across diasporic experiences. In the short film, the sound and 3D artist Sarah Badr, also known as FRKTL, not only visually depicts transformation processes, but also lets them dominate the accompanying soundtrack. The result is an aesthetically unique experience in which the boundaries between physical-acoustic and abstract-electronic sounds seem to be completely erased.
