Kajsa Lindgren – Momentary Harmony (Recital, LP/digital)

The leitmotif running through the work of composer and sound artist Kajsa Lindgren is that of memory. On Momentary Harmony she nevertheless (or rather: accordingly) works less with field recordings and archive material, but turns to the musical means of her early education: voice, violin and piano dominate these 13 pieces. They radiate an indeterminate warmth and friendliness, but are also marked by tape hiss and seem to express a barely tangible melancholy. This is deeply personal music that succeeds in making universal statements.
