Unsound: INTERMISSION (Buch und 2LP, Unsound)

Next to CTM, the Polish festival Unsound is probably the most discursive festival on the European mainland. Last year’s edition had to be rescheduled for the all-too-obvious reasons. However, this resulted in the publication of INTERMISSION. In the book, a wide range of authors devote themselves to the different aspects of the pandemic’s impact on everyday life, society and art. Musical contributions come, amongst others, from field recordings legend Chris Watson, in the form of a collaboration between producer Jlin and the late SOPHIE or as a collaborative piece by Sam Slater, Hildur Guðnadóttir and Kári Grisey. The festival may be on hold for now, but the discourse goes on.
