Safe and Sound

With our new series Safe and Sound, we present a portrait of the contemporary music scene in a state of emergency due to Corona. With a collection of contributions from Berlin artists, we would like to describe different ways of dealing with the current crisis individually, which take their own course in isolation, and put them together again to form an overall picture of artists in collective crisis in quarantine.

In response to social distancing, some organisations have developed creative actions and alternative programs in virtual spaces, developing new communities and ideas for cooperation and co-creation. To support a place for exchange, we are also presenting these initiatives in our new series.

Additionally, Safe and Sound reports on the alternative concert calendar of our current reality with live streams of concerts on Geister-TV.

We count on social bonding during times of social distancing!

Even now, field notes is devoted to giving contemporary music in Berlin more visibility, and to conveying a concrete and nuanced picture of the current situation. Reports from affected artists are just as important now as is addressing structural deficits that could threaten a potential rescue network for the entire free scene in crisis.
