Der praxisorientiertere zweite Teil des Symposiums Curating Diversity lädt dazu ein, sich in einem kollektiven Reflexionsprozess Sounds of Freedom zu nachzuspüren – abseits eurozentrischer Machtstrukturen und Denkmuster.

Bei dem partizipativen Konferenzformat Open Space steht der selbstorganisierte Wissenstransfer unter den Teilnehmenden mit Workshops und Listening Sessions im Fokus. Das Symposium bringt diverse Akteur*innen zusammen, um gemeinsam Entwicklungen non-kolonialer Sound- und Musikpraktiken in den Blick zu nehmen. Ziel ist es, neue Allianzen zu bilden und Handlungsmaßnahmen abzuleiten sowie zu prüfen, wie diese nachhaltig umgesetzt werden können.

Advisory Board des Symposiums: Memory Biwa, Du Yun, Candice Hopkins, Lee Walters und meLê yamomo.

What is Open Space?

  • At the beginning of the Open Space the participants themselves decide what will be worked on.
  • Every issue of concern to anybody can be raised.
  • Work will be done in break-out groups – size, approach, length will be decided by participants.
  • Participants make notes on their findings, these will be published during the event.
  • Everybody receives a Book of Proceedings with all reports.
  • Active participation and getting the most out of the event is supported by being present through the entire event.
